Huelva, Spain, is set to host the CFMOTO MT Challenge 2026 Global Final. For the first time, the global adventure event lands in Spain, specifically in the Andalusian province of Huelva, from September 26 to 28. Twenty teams from around the world will battle for the title in a series of riding, navigation, and adventure tests aboard the CFMOTO 1000MT-X.
For CFMOTO Spain, this edition is particularly special. Not only will they field their own team, but they also play a key role in organizing one of the brand's flagship international events for its Adventure range. Technical and logistical support comes from ELF Spain, the brand's recommended lubricant supplier in the country. The MT Challenge is no ordinary competition; it evaluates skill, navigation, consistency, teamwork, and endurance through various exercises that push participants to their limits.
Each team consists of four riders and receives four CFMOTO 1000MT-X machines provided by the organizers. With identical bikes, technique, adaptability, and team cohesion become the deciding factors. The competition is concentrated over two main days. On September 27, the Venue Challenge takes place with technical exercises in specially prepared areas featuring dirt, mud, water crossings, and sand. The next day, September 28, the Adventure Challenge unfolds: a non-competitive route of over 300 km combining navigation on forest trails and asphalt sections. Both days will test the riders' prowess and demonstrate the CFMOTO 1000MT-X's capability.
CFMOTO Spain is bringing four riders with different profiles. Three were selected through a rigorous process involving 30 candidates who showcased their skills on the CFMOTO 1000MT-X. Ultimately, Rodolfo Martinez, Mario Olmedilla, and Miguel Cepillo—all experienced and with strong chances of fighting for the overall win—made the cut. They will team up with Dani Sanchez, CFMOTO Spain's ambassador, who recently finished 10th in the Adventure Core category at the 2026 Red Bull Romaniacs aboard a CFMOTO 450MT. Sanchez's presence adds significant weight to the home team given his extensive experience in extreme adventure racing.
Rodolfo Martinez is no stranger to the Spanish off-road scene. He is known for his sharp navigational instincts and consistency in tough terrain, which will be invaluable in the Venue Challenge that demands precision on muddy and sandy ground. Meanwhile, Olmedilla and Cepillo bring a blend of speed and composure suited to the long Adventure Challenge route. Their collaboration is expected to match the international teams that are also sending their best riders.
As an event that emphasizes teamwork, the MT Challenge requires careful strategy. Task distribution among the four riders, pacing on the 300 km route, and quick decision-making when facing obstacles are key. The CFMOTO 1000MT-X provided by the organizers ensures no team has a mechanical advantage, so the race will heavily depend on skill and chemistry. This is what sets the MT Challenge apart from conventional racing and makes it increasingly compelling to watch.
