Cadillac Secure Major Tenneco Partnership Ahead of F1 Debut

 Cadillac has announced a multi-year technical partnership with Tenneco as the General Motors-backed team continues preparations for its debut in the 2026 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The agreement was confirmed from Northville, Michigan, Fishers, Indiana, and Silverstone in the United Kingdom, underlining the global scale of the collaboration as Cadillac builds its technical and operational foundations ahead of its first Formula 1 campaign.

Under the terms of the partnership, Tenneco will provide a portfolio of performance-critical products, systems, and engineering support to the Cadillac Formula 1 Team. This includes advanced powertrain and ignition technologies designed to deliver peak performance, reliability, and long-term dependability at the highest level of motorsport.

Tenneco brings more than 125 years of experience as a global supplier of automotive products and technology solutions. Over that period, the company has worked extensively with major manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, and Jaguar Land Rover, as well as the Stellantis group.

 

The Stellantis portfolio includes brands such as Citroën, Jeep, Fiat, and Lancia. The group is chaired by John Elkann, who also serves as executive chairman of Ferrari, further highlighting Tenneco’s long-standing presence at the top level of the automotive and motorsport industries.

Through decades of collaboration with General Motors, Tenneco has played a key role in delivering performance-critical systems across powertrain, ride performance, and clean air technologies. That technical heritage will now be applied to Cadillac’s Formula 1 programme as the team prepares to enter the sport under a new regulatory era.

Cadillac Formula 1 Team head of commercial strategy Tyler Epp explained that the partnership is central to building a robust long-term platform for success.

“As we move towards our debut at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, we need partners who share our desire to lay down strong foundations for future success,” Epp said.

From Tenneco’s perspective, the move into Formula 1 aligns directly with the company’s core mission. Chief executive Jim Voss emphasised the competitive mindset behind the agreement.

“Our purpose is to be the most trusted partner to perform, execute, and win,” Voss said.
