Nicolo Bulega seized victory in WorldSBK Race 2 at Magny-Cours, France, dominating the field with an unstoppable pace. The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati rider crossed the line ahead of teammate Iker Lecuona, who delivered an impressive performance to take second.
Racing on a dry track with temperatures soaring to 38 degrees, the battle at the front was intense. Bulega showed remarkable consistency from the start, while Lecuona kept the pressure on until the chequered flag.
Fierce Battle Behind the Leaders
Behind the two Ducatis, the fight for the final podium spot was equally thrilling. Yari Montella of Barni Spark Racing Team clinched third after overtaking Lorenzo Baldassarri, who had to settle for fourth.
Alberto Surra from Motocorsa Racing rounded out the top five, while Alvaro Bautista delivered a solid performance to finish sixth. Garrett Gerloff, Xavi Vierge, and Axel Bassani also showcased competitive form amid the tight field.
Drama and Incidents in the Final Laps
The race was not without drama, as several riders lost positions due to incidents in the closing laps. Andrea Locatelli could only manage 20th after a technical issue forced him into the pits early.
With this result, Bulega strengthens his lead in the WorldSBK standings. His second win of the season underscores his status as a strong title contender.
