Bulega Blazes to Pole at French WorldSBK Superpole Thriller

Nicolo Bulega continued his formidable form by clinching his ninth pole position of the season at the French WorldSBK round. The Ducati rider was pushed hard by teammate Iker Lecuona and MarcVDS's Sam Lowes but ultimately prevailed in a gripping 15-minute session at Magny-Cours.

On his first flying lap, Nicolo Bulega smashed the existing lap record with a 1:34.900s, only for Lecuona to hit back with a blistering 1:34.676s. The two Ducati riders were clearly ahead of the field, trading blows as the session unfolded.

Determined to respond, the championship leader set an unbeatable 1:34.318s to secure pole position for Race 1 and the Superpole Race. The tension was palpable as Bulega delivered when it mattered most.

Lowes' Late Surge and High Drama Behind

Sam Lowes produced a phenomenal final attempt to snatch second place with a 1:34.486s, just under two seconds off Bulega's best. Lecuona was demoted late but held on to third, ensuring a front-row lockout for Ducati.

Yari Montella took fourth, while Alberto Surra completed an all-Ducati top five. Alex Lowes was the best non-Ducati rider in sixth, despite Tommy Bridewell's late crash which left him seventh on track but demoted to the back of the grid due to a penalty.

Lorenzo Baldassarri also crashed in the final minute but finished eighth, ahead of Xavi Vierge and Jake Dixon, who secured Honda's best result of the season in tenth. Andrea Locatelli was 11th, just 0.020s behind his Yamaha teammate, while Alvaro Bautista endured a tough session down in 14th.
