The 2026 Supercars season delivered another dramatic chapter as Broc Feeney secured a dominant victory in the Gold Coast season finale. Piloting his Triple Eight entry to perfection, he pulled clear of the chasing pack to cross the finish line nearly seven seconds ahead of Dick Johnson Racing's Brodie Kostecki.
Chaz Mostert claimed the final step of the podium in third place, though his afternoon was overshadowed by a controversial team intervention from Walkinshaw TWG Racing that denied him a legitimate shot at fighting for the race win.
Mostert had been charging hard toward the leading duo with blistering pace in the closing stages of the race, only to be instructed by his pit wall to drop back and assist Ryan Wood's championship aspirations.

Despite the tactical sacrifice, Wood's title hopes were ultimately dismantled following a sequence of late pit stops executed by two rival Chevrolet competitors, a move that successfully vaulted Team 18 driver Anton De Pasquale up to seventh position in the Finals Series standings.
De Pasquale persevered to finish as the highest-placed Camaro driver in 14th position, recovering remarkably from a first-lap collision with Grove Racing competitor Kai Allen that had initially punctured his right rear tire.
Further down the order, Erebus Motorsport driver Jarrod Hughes and PremiAir Racing's Cooper Murray both ducked into the lane for late pit stops inside the final 10 laps, resulting in 16th and 17th-place finishes respectively.
When the dust settled, Wood became the first of the Finals Series contenders to miss out on advancing to Sandown, joining Allen and Jack Le Brocq on the elimination list. Meanwhile, Grove Racing's Matt Payne successfully maintained his grip at the summit of the standings ahead of Feeney, Kostecki, Mostert, Will Brown, Cameron Waters, and De Pasquale.
