Bortoleto Insists Audi Seat 'is Filled' Amid Silly Season Rumors TO NEWS OVERVIEW
Gabriel Bortoleto has 10 points in 11 races

Audi has inadvertently become one of the central figures in Formula 1's silly season, but its rising star is crystal clear: he is here to stay. Gabriel Bortoleto has been a revelation since joining the team last year, and he is not about to let speculation shake his confidence.

The Brazilian, who entered F1 as a back-to-back F3 and F2 champion, currently holds 10 points, eight more than his veteran teammate Nico Hulkenberg. As the team transitions into its Audi era, Bortoleto's performances have been a bright spot in a challenging season.

Speaking to Motorsport.com's Brazilian arm, Bortoleto revealed that conversations with the team's project chief, Mattia Binotto, continuously point towards the long term. "As far as I can say, because it's something that's confidential, but let's say there are no clauses," he said. "I have a long-term contract with Audi. I'll be with Audi next year, and not only next year, but the following years as well."

He added, "The intention, and I've always said this from the beginning, is a long-term project. Mattia always talks about a project until 2030. So, let's put it that way." This statement firmly puts to rest any notion that his seat is under threat from a potential Carlos Sainz arrival.

Rumors have linked Sainz with Audi once again, as Williams struggles under the new regulations. The Spaniard had previously turned down Audi to join Williams, but his name has resurfaced in connection with the Hinwil-based squad. However, Bortoleto remained firm on his own future, and spoke warmly of his partnership with Hulkenberg.

"I can say that my spot is filled. I won't comment on other people's contracts, but I really enjoy working with Nico," he continued. "I want to make that very clear. He's a fast, experienced guy who brings many positive things to the team. I trust in my potential and the work we're doing."

Bortoleto and Hulkenberg will be looking to continue Audi's upward trajectory as F1 emerges from its summer break this weekend at Zandvoort. With the project clearly focused on the long term, Bortoleto appears to be a key piece in Audi's puzzle for years to come.
