Some motorcycles need a full redesign to stay relevant. Not the BMW S 1000 RR. The German superbike enters the 2027 model year with a more subtle update—focusing on style, equipment, and personalization—without touching its high-performance DNA.
For 2027, BMW Motorrad injects racing spirit through the new Style M Sport package. The Blackstorm Metallic paint with M Motorsport graphics immediately catches the eye. Add a tinted windshield and M forged wheels, and the bike looks even more aggressive on the street or track.
It's no secret that the S 1000 RR has a close link to competition. BMW Motorrad Motorsport continues to use its circuit experience to develop race bikes, then transfer that knowledge to road models. The Munich-based manufacturer states that both the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR are part of its international racing activities.
Interestingly, the arrival of Style M Sport automatically replaces the old Sport/Bluestone Metallic option in the S 1000 RR lineup. So, for those wanting a different look with an M touch, this new option is clearly more tempting. Plus, the M forged wheels are now included in the M Package, while the M carbon wheels remain available as an option within the same package. It's a smart move: giving owners flexibility for both road and track use.
Beyond looks, there's a functional upgrade. The USB charging port is now standard in the Dynamic Package and the M Sport edition. It might sound trivial, but it's very useful for modern riders who need to charge devices while riding. BMW seems to understand that a superbike isn't just about power figures, but also daily comfort.
And that combination is the key to the RR's evolution. The current generation already brought big leaps in performance, aerodynamics, and electronics. With 210 hp and a top speed of 303 km/h, the S 1000 RR remains one of the most feared superbikes on the road. This 2027 update reinforces its position: still true to its racing character, but more ready for everyday life.
