BMW Motorrad has officially introduced the “100 Jahre Nurburgring” special edition to celebrate the centenary of the legendary German circuit. Dedicated to its high-performance M lineup, this edition is limited to just 300 units worldwide, making it one of the most exclusive collections from the Bavarian manufacturer.
Nurburgring first opened on June 18, 1927, and will reach its centennial next year. BMW has chosen to celebrate early with a commemorative edition that touches its three most radical M models: the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and M 1000 XR. These are street-homologated high-performance machines derived from racing technology, emphasizing dynamism, precision, and peak performance.
Nurburgring is considered the ultimate proving ground. There, manufacturers push their top models to the limit, chasing lap records against rivals. That’s why BMW Motorrad’s M range is the perfect tribute to a circuit that has shaped the brand’s sporting character since its first victory there in 1927.
Three Extreme Models Draped in Green
The models chosen for this collection are the M 1000 RR, M 1000 R, and M 1000 XR. Each is strictly limited to 100 units globally, ensuring absolute exclusivity. The historic Nurburgring green is the defining visual element.
Other distinctive touches include carbon fiber wheels with green stripes matching the bodywork. The fuel tank displays the silhouette of the German track, while the air filter cover with the anniversary design shows the individual numbering of each unit. An Alcantara-look seat adds an embroidered “100”, completed by a blacked-out swingarm and rear frame.
Performance for Different Riding Styles
The RR variant is the most radical, track-oriented option thanks to its racing aerodynamics and low weight. On the other hand, the hyper naked R brings superbike performance to open roads with astonishing agility. Completing the edition is the XR, a crossover offering an upright riding position ideal for long distances while maintaining the dynamics, precision, and versatility that define the segment.
All units will also include the M track package. Those who secure one of the 300 units will receive an exclusive M carpet with the Nurburgring 100th anniversary logo and a rear wheel paddock stand. BMW also adds a cover kit for those opting for the M 1000 RR and M 1000 R. Availability and order opening details will be announced later, keeping the mystery alive.
