Blanchard Racing Team or BRT faced a bitter reality after their promising championship campaign derailed due to costly operational mistakes. Starting the year with exceptional pace, the Ford squad saw James Golding comfortably sit inside the top ten in points for a major portion of the season.

However, disaster struck when a double disqualification at The Bend 500 stripped them of a seventh-place finish. The team failed to adhere to minimum driver time rules, leaving their co-drivers in the car too long before a time-certain finish.

With Golding unable to bridge the points deficit at Bathurst, Tim Blanchard's outfit arrived at the Gold Coast 500 as the sole Ford team without a driver entering the Finals.

“It’s disappointing to be out of the finals, even if it makes for an easier run through to the end of the year,” Blanchard admitted after the Surfers Paradise weekend.

“We kicked an own goal at Tailem Bend and we know without that we would have made the cut,” he added, acknowledging the self-inflicted damage.

Despite showing undeniable speed on the Gold Coast, execution issues continued to plague the garage. A highlight came when Aaron Cameron secured a sensational third-place grid slot on Sunday, though it ultimately translated into a 12th-place race finish.

Both drivers suffered spectacular spins through the beach chicane during a wet Saturday encounter, while Cameron also served a drive-through penalty after the team refilled its fuel tower—a practice restricted strictly to endurance events.

BRT currently sits ninth in the teams' championship standings, with Golding and Cameron holding 12th and 20th positions respectively in the drivers' standings as they aim to regroup for the remaining rounds.
