Barnes entered the final race with a straightforward mission: stay out of trouble, maintain focus, and consolidate his position at the top of the standings. That calculated approach paid off handsomely as he navigated a tense Race 3 to secure the championship crown amid a fiercely contested title fight.
Although he finished sixth in Race 2 and fifth in Race 3, it was more than enough to weather the storm as title rival Ben Stewart hit a wall of misfortune. Years of relentless hard work finally culminated in championship glory for the young charger, who is now setting his sights on the Super2 grid, having recently acquired an ex-Dick Johnson Racing Ford Mustang for future competition.
"I've been trying and trying so many years at it and finally I've got it, so I'm stoked, so happy with myself," Barnes reflected after experiencing the immense psychological pressure of the title decider.

Meanwhile, the weekend also belonged to Will Thompson, who put on a masterclass performance to sweep both races. Thompson fended off Lachlan Gibbons by just 0.34 seconds in Race 2, while Brock Stinson drove brilliantly to claim third place, followed by Liam Gerges and Arthur Broughan rounding out the top five.
The championship battle delivered plenty of high-stakes drama on the opening laps, proving just how punishing the pressure cooker of motorsport can be when the ultimate prize is on the line.
