Francesco Bagnaia admitted he cannot explain the crash that ended his British GP at Silverstone. The Ducati rider called this weekend one of the toughest of his career, and he never wants to experience it again.

Arriving after the summer break in top shape, Bagnaia had surgery for compartment syndrome before the race. However, he refused to use it as an excuse. His performance on track remained the focus, especially when he lost control of his bike and crashed while running in fifteenth place.

"I'm asking myself the same thing. It's very strange, really. I've never lost the front while exiting a corner, so it's very odd," Bagnaia told our contributor Manuel Pecino. "And when we analyze the data, it's very hard to detect anything. The only thing is the front end: I completely lost the front in a matter of milliseconds."

The result was a huge disappointment for the Turin rider. "It's also hard to accept because this is one of the toughest weekends of the season. I've been struggling to get close to the top ten all weekend. And today there was a small chance to finish in the top ten. But it was a real fight, and we have to get out of this situation because I don't want another weekend like this," he said.

Bagnaia also complained about a lack of grip that he has felt all season. "I've changed everything: settings, electronics... but the problem is not there. And since the first race of the season, I have no grip at all, zero. And we don't know what to do because there are Ducati riders who have very good grip. So it's very hard to understand," he explained.

This failure cost Bagnaia valuable points in the title fight. He now trails further behind in the standings, and the pressure is mounting to bounce back in the upcoming rounds. The Ducati team must work extra hard to find a solution to the grip issue that has hampered Bagnaia's performance all season.
