Kimi Antonelli secured victory at the 2026 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix after withstanding sustained pressure from Lando Norris, marking his third consecutive win of the season and reinforcing his championship lead.
The race began with immediate drama as Antonelli came under attack from Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. A lock-up into Turn 1 triggered contact between Verstappen and Leclerc, sending the Red Bull Racing driver into a 360-degree spin and dropping him down the order.
Following the chaotic opening, the race saw multiple lead changes, with Antonelli, Norris, Oscar Piastri, and Verstappen all spending time at the front. A safety car was deployed early after crashes involving Isack Hadjar and Pierre Gasly, influencing pit strategy across the field.

In the closing stages, the battle narrowed to a direct fight between Antonelli and Norris. With superior tyre management from Mercedes, Antonelli maintained consistent pace despite Norris remaining within striking distance through the technical sectors.
Norris crossed the line 3.264 seconds behind in second place, while Piastri secured the final podium position after capitalising on a late mistake from Leclerc. The Ferrari driver spun in the closing laps, losing positions to George Russell and Verstappen, who completed the top five.
Further down the order, Lewis Hamilton finished seventh, while Franco Colapinto added valuable points for Alpine. Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon completed the top 10 for Williams, highlighting midfield consistency.
The race also featured multiple retirements including Hadjar, Gasly, Liam Lawson, and Nico Hulkenberg, underlining the high-risk conditions in the early laps. With post-race investigations still ongoing, the final classification may yet change, but Antonelli’s victory cements his momentum heading into the next round of the 2026 Formula 1 season.
