Kimi Antonelli wrote an epic story on home soil. Starting from 19th on the grid, he charged through the field to claim victory at the Italian Grand Prix, a race that was temporarily halted due to a heavy crash by Charles Leclerc. The event at Monza turned into a spectacular showcase for the Mercedes driver.
The red flag came out on lap three after Leclerc hit the wall at Parabolica. The incident forced officials to repair the barriers, stopping the race for around 30 minutes. That moment became a strategic turning point, as all drivers were free to change tyres without penalty.
After the restart, George Russell led and looked set to secure the win. However, his tyres began to degrade late in the race, opening the door for Antonelli, who was on fresher rubber. A tense battle ensued, and on lap 50 Antonelli overtook his teammate with a bold move.

"I can't believe it. It gives me goosebumps to win in front of the tifosi. The team did an incredible job," Antonelli said after the race. This victory reinforced his status as the championship leader and a winner at this historic circuit.
Max Verstappen finished third, followed by the two McLarens, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Lewis Hamilton had to settle for sixth after a poor start, while pole-sitter Pierre Gasly could only manage seventh. The race also featured intense battles among teams, with many position changes in the early laps.
With this result, Antonelli extends his lead in the championship. His comeback performance reminded many of the greats, and all eyes are now on him to maintain consistency. Monza has witnessed an unforgettable victory.
