The racing weekend at the Lusail International Circuit brought mixed feelings for the rookie rider representing the Trackhouse MotoGP Team. Starting Sunday's main event from fifth on the grid, the Japanese talent immediately showed strong intent when the lights went out. Capitalizing on a sluggish start from Fabio Di Giannantonio, he successfully gained a position to slot into fourth place on the opening lap.
However, the battle quickly intensified as he found himself locked in a fierce defensive and offensive duel with Johann Zarco. Divergent riding styles and tactical approaches led to a hard-fought scrap over the initial laps. The situation grew tougher on lap three when both riders dropped behind the charging KTM duo of Pedro Acosta and Enea Bastianini.
Following that shake-up, the former Moto2 standout got stuck behind Bastianini in sixth place for numerous laps. Multiple overtaking attempts at the hard-braking zones failed before he finally managed to squeeze past the Italian rider on lap fifteen. Two laps later, he capitalized further by overtaking Acosta, who was struggling with front tyre pressure issues that hampered his pace throughout the afternoon.

Entering the closing stages, his Aprilia machine came alive as he hunted down Marc Marquez and teammate Raul Fernandez. Unfortunately, the charge came a bit too late, crossing the chequered flag 4.885 seconds behind the race victor.
Reflecting on his performance, the young rider made no secret of his mixed emotions regarding the Grand Prix. "I fought too much with Johann in the first part and we had a different approach, which made it far from an ideal situation," he stated. "However, my pace towards the end was quite okay and I managed the tyre degradation well. There are positive takeaways, but overall I am not entirely happy."
