Acosta Relaxed About Sharing Ducati Garage with Marquez

Pedro Acosta is entering a new chapter in his career with a clear head. The young Spanish rider is ready to share a garage with Marc Marquez at Ducati, insisting he feels no pressure ahead of his first test with the Desmosedici on December 1.

Acosta, who just turned 22, will be teammates with Marquez, who is 11 years his senior. Despite his youth, Acosta shows maturity by viewing this as a long-term start, not a short-term race. "Marc is in the final stages of his career, and I'm just starting mine," he said in an exclusive interview with Motorsport.com.

This move marks the end of a six-year relationship with KTM, which brought two Moto3 titles and one Moto2 crown. However, the failure to win the MotoGP title with the Austrian factory was the main reason behind his decision to leave. Acosta felt his dream of becoming MotoGP world champion with KTM was unlikely in the near future.

Even so, Acosta is aware he is entering a garage that Marquez has made his own. "Marc knows everyone at the factory, and I'll need time to adapt to a completely Italian garage after six years at KTM," he said. He added that this is a completely new chapter, so he feels no pressure.

Acosta has planned his adaptation in two stages, in line with his two-year contract with Ducati. "Luckily, I'll be there for at least two years. So I'll have time to find my rhythm in the first year and see what happens in the second," he explained.

Currently, Acosta is seventh in the standings, 77 points behind leader Jorge Martin and 37 adrift of Marquez, who is fourth. Despite his often irreverent image, Acosta adopts a low-key stance when assessing this move. He knows a big challenge awaits, but he believes process is key.

With a calm mentality and long-term goals, Acosta seems ready to embrace this new chapter without extra baggage. The question is, can he compete with a legend like Marquez in the same garage? Time will tell.
