After the summer break, Formula 1 returns at Zandvoort, a circuit that shares many characteristics with the Hungaroring. For Frederic Vasseur and his team, this is a golden opportunity to correct mistakes and get back on track. However, Andrea Stella and McLaren arrive with high confidence after an impressive performance in Budapest.

Zandvoort is indeed a track that suits the SF-26. Its flowing corners with medium to high speed, low energy management demands, and good traction are ingredients that make Ferrari competitive. The circuit also requires stability and downforce, two strengths of the car driven by Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. However, the lesson from Hungary is that potential alone is not enough; execution over the weekend is key.

Ferrari is on a mission for redemption. In Budapest, they started strong but lost their way during qualifying and the race. With only one free practice session due to the Sprint format, preparation becomes even more crucial. The team must find the right setup from Friday morning, with no room for risky experiments.

On the other side, McLaren brings a major upgrade package to Zandvoort, including a new floor that proved effective in Hungary. The MCL40 is now a solid car across all corner types, though it still struggles slightly in medium-speed corners. However, changing wind conditions at this coastal circuit could be a deciding factor, and McLaren seems better prepared to handle that variable.

Mercedes, once a favorite, disappointed in Budapest. The W17 had great potential but failed to find the right balance. The German manufacturer will surely be more aggressive in the Netherlands to make amends and rejoin the fight at the front.

With three top teams so close, Zandvoort promises a fierce battle. Can Ferrari seize this opportunity? Or will McLaren show their dominance again? All will be answered on this narrow and challenging track.
