A hugely successful chapter in international motorcycle racing is drawing to a close as Yamaha Motor Europe and the Dutch squad Ten Kate Racing announce the conclusion of their eight-year partnership following the completion of the 2026 racing season.
The strong alliance between the Japanese manufacturer and the Dutch team initially kicked off back in 2019 within the FIM Superbike World Championship paddock. Fielded by French rider Loris Baz, the team made an immediate impact before shifting their primary focus towards the competitive World Supersport category.
That strategic shift paved the way for an era of incredible dominance. Following their debut campaign with Steven Odendaal in 2020, the team secured back-to-back world titles with Dominique Aegerter in 2021 and 2022. Italian standout Stefano Manzi then carried the torch, eventually clinching the world championship aboard the brand-new Yamaha R9 after consecutive runner-up finishes.

The winning momentum continued into 2026 with Can Oncu leading the charge. In total, the collaboration will conclude with an impressive tally of 48 race wins and 99 podium finishes in WorldSSP, alongside four podiums secured during their WorldSBK stint.
Reflecting on the impending split, Yamaha Motor Europe Motorsport Division Manager Andrea Dosoli expressed his gratitude for the team's immense contributions. “We want to thank Ten Kate for everything they have achieved over the past eight seasons. With three additional world titles, they helped make Yamaha the most successful manufacturer in WorldSSP history,” Dosoli stated.
While official announcements regarding Ten Kate Racing's exact plans for 2027 remain under wraps amidst paddock rumors linking them to QJ Motor, the Dutch outfit is scheduled to officially unveil its future racing roadmap on December 1.
