WRC Announces 15-Round 2027 Calendar Featuring US and UK Return
TO NEWS OVERVIEW
Next year's WRC calendar will be the longest since 2008

The WRC has officially announced an expanded 15-round calendar for the 2027 season, marking the largest schedule for the World Rally Championship since 2008. This major announcement confirms the much-anticipated returns of both the United States and Scotland, signaling a massive global expansion for the premier rallying series.

Unveiled on Thursday, next year’s campaign will kick off with the iconic Monte Carlo Rally from January 21-24. The subsequent four events in Sweden, Kenya, Croatia, and the Canary Islands will maintain their traditional slots. Meanwhile, a single-season absence for Portugal moves Japan forward to round six, followed by Greece, ahead of Italy's Rome-based asphalt counter.

The second half of the 2027 season will feature an all-gravel, seven-round stretch that promises intense sporting action. Estonia and Finland will run back-to-back before WRC returns to America for the first time in 39 years with Rally US. Britain will also make its awaited comeback one round later through Rally Scotland, restoring two historical strongholds to the calendar.

The grueling season will then head to South America for a double-header in Paraguay and Chile, before Rally Saudi Arabia brings down the curtain on November 25-28. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem emphasized that the expanded calendar demonstrates the growing momentum and strength of the championship worldwide.

"The 2027 FIA World Rally Championship calendar reflects the strong momentum behind the WRC, with new events in the United Kingdom and Italy strengthening the Championship in countries with a proud rallying heritage, while the United States gives us an exciting opportunity to grow in a country where interest in rallying continues to rise," said Mohammed Ben Sulayem. He further highlighted that new technical regulations and a new promoter will inject long-term investment and ambition into the sport.
