Absolute dominance was showcased once again by Toyota in the World Endurance Championship during a thrilling penultimate round of the 2026 season. Delivering a flawless performance at the Catalan circuit, the Japanese manufacturer successfully secured a resounding one-two finish that clinched the prestigious manufacturers world title with one race still remaining on the calendar.
The number 8 GR010 Hypercar driven by Brendon Hartley, Ryo Hirakawa, and Sebastien Buemi crossed the finish line first after a fiercely contested six-hour battle. They were closely chased throughout the entire race distance by their sister car, the number 7 entry shared by Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries, and Mike Conway, which ultimately claimed the runner-up spot on the podium.
Weather conditions briefly offered a tactical challenge as the asphalt remained damp from earlier rain during the opening two hours of the race. However, the track progressively dried under overcast skies without producing any major drama capable of shaking up the established pecking order among the front-runners on the Spanish circuit.

Meanwhile, the most consistent challenge to the dominant Japanese squad came from Ferrari, whose number 50 crew successfully locked down the final step of the podium. Driver Miguel Molina expressed his delight at celebrating a strong result in front of his home crowd after executing a clean and solid race strategy from lights out to the checkered flag.
However, mixed fortunes plagued the sister #51 Ferrari entry, which initially fought its way up the order before technical glitches and ill-timed Full Course Yellow periods derailed their pace. Attention now shifts directly to the season finale at Monza, where the ultimate drivers championship crown will be decided.
