Trackhouse Racing has officially confirmed that Davide Brivio will leave the Aprilia satellite squad at the end of the 2026 MotoGP season.
The announcement immediately intensified speculation linking Brivio with a future senior management role inside Honda MotoGP from 2027 onward.
Brivio remains one of the most influential figures in the modern MotoGP paddock after overseeing four world championships for Valentino Rossi at Yamaha before guiding Joan Mir to the 2020 MotoGP title with Suzuki.

He returned to MotoGP at the beginning of 2024 following a spell in Formula 1 and was immediately appointed to lead Trackhouse Racing’s ambitious new MotoGP project as team principal.
From a competitive standpoint, Trackhouse has developed rapidly under Brivio’s leadership. The American-owned squad secured its first MotoGP victory with Raul Fernandez at Phillip Island last season.
This year, Fernandez has added several more podium finishes while rookie Ai Ogura achieved his maiden MotoGP podium at Le Mans.
"In situations like this, it is always difficult to find the right words. First of all, I want to thank Trackhouse and especially Justin Marks for giving me the opportunity to return to MotoGP," Brivio said in an official team statement.
Brivio also explained that the Trackhouse project gave him valuable experience in building an independent MotoGP team with strong technical and human foundations.
Over recent weeks, Italian media reported that Brivio had entered discussions with HRC regarding a senior consultancy role beginning in 2027. The speculation followed Honda’s confirmation that current team manager Alberto Puig will move into a broader advisory position next season.
However, Brivio is not expected to directly replace Puig as HRC team manager, but instead take on a wider strategic and commercial role within Honda’s MotoGP structure.
Trackhouse Entertainment Group founder Justin Marks praised Brivio’s major contribution to establishing the MotoGP project from the ground up.
"Davide has been instrumental in building Trackhouse MotoGP into a powerful force within the championship. His experience and vision have been vital to the development of our team," said Marks.
Trackhouse also confirmed that a new leadership structure for its MotoGP operation is currently being developed and will be announced in the coming months.
