Trackhouse Aprilia Retains Raul Fernandez Until 2028 TO NEWS OVERVIEW
Gold and Goose

Raul Fernandez has officially extended his contract with Trackhouse Aprilia for two more seasons, securing his place with the satellite Aprilia team until the end of 2028. The announcement comes just ahead of the MotoGP season resumption at Silverstone this weekend.

The Spanish rider joined Trackhouse in 2023 after moving from Tech3 KTM. Over three seasons with the American-owned team, Fernandez has shown significant progress, including his first Sprint win at Mugello this year and a repeat in the Netherlands. He has also secured three grand prix podiums in 2026, two of which came in the last two races.

Trackhouse Aprilia owner Justin Marks welcomed the contract extension. "We are thrilled to announce that Raul Fernandez will stay with the team for the next two seasons. Since the beginning of this team's journey, Raul has been fully committed to our mission and objectives. He has grown as a rider both on the bike and with his preparation, approach, and maturity," Marks said.

Trackhouse's trust in Fernandez is not without reason, given his consistent performance in 2026. He currently sits sixth in the standings after 11 rounds, becoming the team's backbone amid the departure of teammate Ai Ogura, who will move to Yamaha at the end of the season. With this new contract, Fernandez is expected to lead the team and push Trackhouse to the front of the pack.

This decision also provides certainty for Trackhouse's future in MotoGP. Although Ogura will leave, the team is anticipated to replace him with Enea Bastianini next season, though nothing is official yet. With Fernandez staying, Trackhouse has a strong foundation to continue growing and become a serious threat in the world championship.

Reported by BikeSport News, this announcement is a positive signal for team stability amid major changes expected on the MotoGP grid. Fernandez himself is expected to perform competitively at Silverstone to prove the trust placed in him.
