The sensational resurgence shown by Max Verstappen and the Red Bull Racing squad in the second half of the 2026 Formula 1 season sends a strong signal for the future. Although the world championship fight is out of reach this season, a string of positive results in recent grands prix has significantly closed the points gap in the drivers' standings.
Securing two victories in the last three races and showing incredible pace, the team's performance is firmly back at the front of the grid. This momentum opens up a realistic prospect for the Dutch driver to secure second place or a top-three finish in the final championship standings ahead of his closest rivals.
When questioned about attending the annual FIA prize-giving gala in Shanghai this coming December, where Lewis Hamilton and others might feature, the driver maintains strict focus. Finishing second or third holds little emotional significance for a competitor whose sole metric of success is capturing the ultimate world title crown.

"No, because ultimately you're not winning. You're not becoming world champion, and that's the only thing that matters to me," he told the media in the Singapore paddock, highlighting his uncompromising winning mentality.
The major turning point for the Milton Keynes outfit lies in their ability to overcome early-season technical hurdles. Given that they were initially fighting mid-field competitors like Haas and Alpine, the current rate of aerodynamic and mechanical development serves as a crucial foundation.
"The most important thing is to look at where we were at the beginning of the season and where we are now," he explained regarding the team's upward trajectory. "All the upgrades that have been introduced on the car since then, and also the problems we had with certain parts of our car, we've managed to solve all of that."
According to Motorsport.com, the precise correlation between wind tunnel data and real-world track performance has proven to be the key differentiator against competitors. While rival teams continue questioning the effectiveness of their new components, every upgrade package brought by Red Bull has functioned seamlessly.
"When you see that some teams still have doubts about certain aspects of their new upgrades, everything is working for us, and that's a real positive," he concluded, offering great optimism looking ahead to next year's car development.
