Shane van Gisbergen will return to the NASCAR Truck Series this weekend, this time driving for a Hendrick-affiliated team. The Kiwi is set to compete in the Black's Tire 250 at Richmond Raceway on Saturday (AEST), piloting the #7 Chevrolet Silverado fielded by Spire Motorsports.
This marks his fourth start of the season in the series and his third with Spire. Previously, SVG drove the #71, but for this race he moves to the #7. The switch adds another layer of intrigue, as technical support from Hendrick Motorsports bolsters the team's competitiveness.
Richmond is no stranger to Van Gisbergen. In his last start there, he admitted enjoying the challenging track. "I found that race pretty good," he said. "I liked the night race there. I found it really cool. I found you could move all over the track. It's quite worn out and pretty slippery. I found it to be a pretty fun little track."

Besides SVG, another NASCAR Cup Series driver will be in the field: Christopher Bell, racing the #62 HFR Toyota Tacoma. The presence of these two top-tier drivers adds extra spice to the midfield battle.
The race serves as a warm-up for Sunday's Cook Out 400. For Van Gisbergen, it's another chance to hone his short-track skills, an area that often challenges road-course specialists.
With full team support and growing experience, fans will be eager to see SVG's performance at Richmond. Can he contend up front? We'll find out.
