The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series returns to Winton Motor Raceway on September 25-27 with a broadcast package promising 14 hours of live coverage. The event will be a stage for drivers and teams to shine, and a comeback moment for several big names in Australian motorsport broadcasting.
TA2 Muscle Car Series Headlines
The TA2 Muscle Car Series will headline the event with an 18-car entry list confirmed. Additionally, the Australian Formula Ford Championship, Legend Cars Australia, the Australian IRC Racing Series, and Formula RX-8 will complete the weekend's excitement.
Familiar Faces Return
Long-time Super Series host Matt Cavanagh will return to front the coverage, joined by lead commentator Dan McCarthy. The voice of TA2, Matt Naulty, will also return alongside reigning series champion Jarrod Hughes, while young talent Jai Eccles will lead Legend Cars Australia coverage.
Notably, Charlie Barlow joins as host and pit lane reporter. Barlow is no stranger to Australian motorsport; she is known as the big screen host during Supercars events and as a pit lane reporter for the Shannons SpeedSeries. She also works as Development Manager at Motorsport Australia, heading up its Girls on Track program.
"I’m excited to join the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series broadcast," said Barlow. "Seven years ago, TA2 is where I started my broadcasting career, so it feels like a full-circle moment to come back as host and in pit lane. I’m excited to be working alongside some really cool and emerging talent, not only within the broadcast team, but along pit lane and in the different paddocks. It’s going to be a really busy weekend, but I’m looking forward to heading to Winton, which is diehard motorsport country. I think it’s going to be a great weekend of exciting racing."
Barlow is joined by another new face, experienced grassroots motorsport broadcaster Dave Stillwell, who will head up pit lane duties at Winton.
Broadcast Platforms and Promoter's Expectations
Coverage will be split between free-to-air options via the MotorsportsTV YouTube Channel and SBS, and streaming via Kayo Sports. Series promoter George Gambino is pleased with the broadcast package. "We’re really happy with the broadcast package and commentators that we have put together for our event," said Gambino. "Having 14 hours of live TV coverage, across a variety of platforms including free-to-air, makes this one of the best motorsport products on the market. This is exactly what the competitors have wanted, and it’s exactly what they are going to get. We’ve also got a trusted team of commentators and experts on board to give our fans the perfect insights over the weekend. We feel we have the mix right and just can’t wait to get started."
The Hi-Tec Oils Super Series round at Winton will be held across September 25-27, with Friday reserved for a practice day. Racing action will commence on Saturday. With a mix of talented drivers, top teams, and extensive broadcast coverage, the weekend promises a spectacle not to be missed.
