The final practice session of the WorldSBK Estoril 2026 weekend delivered high drama at the historic Portuguese venue as Sam Lowes snatched the fastest lap time in the dying moments. Running under crisp autumn conditions with ambient temperatures hovering around 20 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning, riders wasted no time maximizing their machine setups ahead of the critical qualifying hours.
Nicolo Bulega, who dominated Friday's combined timesheets for the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati factory squad, immediately picked up where he left off. The Italian championship leader clocked a 1:35,299 on his very first flying lap before instantly improving to a 1:34,923 on his second attempt utilizing Pirelli's available qualifier options.
Because teams opted for vastly different strategies and varying tire compounds throughout the 20-minute morning outing, lap times carried a complex narrative. With just one minute remaining on the clock, Sam Lowes unleashed a stellar effort aboard his Marc VDS Ducati to rocket straight to the top of the timesheet.

Nicolo Bulega ultimately had to settle for second place, finishing a mere 0,083 seconds adrift of the benchmark. Meanwhile, an impressive performance by Alberto Surra placed him third overall, closely followed by Miguel Oliveira and Bimota stalwart Axel Bassani rounding out the top positions.
Further down the order, title contender Yari Montella pulled off a remarkable save after a major moment, salvaging seventh position ahead of his teammate Alvaro Bautista. Elsewhere, Garrett Gerloff finished ninth for Kawasaki, Jake Dixon led Honda in tenth, and Xavier Vierge secured eleventh as the fastest Yamaha representative.
