Official news has arrived from the Rodin Motorsport camp. The British team has announced that Reza Seewooruthun, a 20-year-old driver, will step up to Formula 3 for the 2027 season. This marks Rodin's first internal promotion for next year, following their earlier confirmation of Pedro Clerot.
Seewooruthun is no stranger to the Rodin environment. He has been with the team for some time and has now earned the trust to make the jump to FIA Formula 3. The British driver enjoyed a solid 2026 campaign across various championships, including Formula Regional Middle East and the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC). His promising performances convinced the team he is ready for the new challenge.
“I am proud to continue with Rodin Motorsport in my move to Formula 3 next year,” said Seewooruthun. “It is an honour to take this step with a team I trust. I am excited for this new chapter, but the coming months will be dedicated to hard work ahead of the season start.”
Rodin's Sporting Director, Benn Huntingford, also shared his thoughts on the promotion. “It is fantastic to see Reza continue his development with the team in the move to FIA Formula 3. He showed promising pace during his FREC experience and secured two podiums this season, important milestones for his evolution. We look forward to maximising that experience together and seeing what he can achieve in F3,” said Huntingford.
This promotion is part of Rodin's strategy in building their lineup for 2027. After locking in Clerot, the next step was to secure Seewooruthun's seat. The decision demonstrates the team's faith in its own graduates, an approach rarely seen among other F3 teams.
With two podiums in the 2026 FREC season, Seewooruthun is considered to have enough of a foundation to compete at a higher level. However, he will face tough competition from more experienced drivers. Rodin hopes the combination of Clerot and Seewooruthun can deliver maximum results.
It remains unknown whether Rodin will add another driver to complete the lineup. What is clear is that Seewooruthun's promotion signals the team's intention to give opportunities to young talents already proven within their own setup.
