Raul Fernandez produced a stunning performance during the timed practice session at the Indonesian Grand Prix, demolishing the lap record to claim the top spot at Mandalika. The Spanish rider showcased exceptional pace throughout the day, stamping his authority on the timesheets.
Fernandez spent the majority of the practice session as the fastest rider on track, eventually cementing his position at the summit with an all-time lap record. His blistering 1:28.725s lap saw him comfortably clear of the chasing pack, highlighting a formidable display of speed on Friday.
His remarkable effort spearheaded an Aprilia lockout of the top three positions. Fernandez led the charge ahead of both factory-backed machinery, with Marco Bezzecchi slotting into second place and Jorge Martin completing the top three.

Further down the order, Pedro Acosta delivered a solid fourth-place finish, ending 0.669s adrift of Fernandez's benchmark time. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez rounded out the top five, narrowly edging out Fabio Di Giannantonio by a mere 0.004s as the battle for direct Q2 entry intensified.
Despite encountering a heavy crash, Fabio Quartararo managed to salvage seventh place at the chequered flag. Francesco Bagnaia secured the final direct qualification spot for Q2 in 10th position, narrowly keeping rival Alex Rins at bay after the latter crashed with just two minutes remaining on the clock.
