Raul Fernandez Dominates British MotoGP at Silverstone

Raul Fernandez delivered a flawless performance at Silverstone. The Aprilia rider led every lap of the British MotoGP race and crossed the line 2.538s clear of Jorge Martin to claim his second premier-class victory.

The start was decisive. When the lights went out, Fernandez surged ahead of polesitter Martin, whose ride height device was stuck down. Martin's teammate Marco Bezzecchi also got past, before Marc Marquez swept by both as Martin and Ai Ogura battled each other.

But Marquez's advantage lasted only a lap. Martin quickly retook third place. Meanwhile, Ogura slipped back to seventh after losing positions to Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta.

Alex Marquez then passed his brother for fourth, before Acosta produced an audacious move at Turn 1 for fifth. Bezzecchi began to struggle with fatigue from his lingering injury, allowing Martin to close in and eventually overtake on Lap 9.

Ogura, struggling to rejoin the leaders, crashed out at the penultimate corner as the race reached its halfway point. At the same time, Alex Marquez made an error that dropped him from fourth to sixth, behind Bezzecchi, Acosta, and Marc Marquez. But the Spaniard fought back, retaking his brother and Acosta, and closing on Bezzecchi in the final laps.

At the front, Fernandez cruised to the flag, becoming the 12th different winner in 12 races at Silverstone. Martin finished a distant second, while Bezzecchi held off Marquez's challenge to take the final podium spot—securing an Aprilia top-three lockout. Alex Marquez missed the podium by half a second, with Acosta completing the top five.

Fabio Di Giannantonio showed late-race pace to finish sixth, ahead of a disappointing seventh for Marc Marquez. Brad Binder was a distant eighth, followed by Luca Marini in ninth, while Diogo Moreira rounded out the top ten. Franco Morbidelli narrowly beat Fabio Quartararo for 11th, with Jack Miller taking the chequered flag in 13th.

The final points battle was intense: Pol Espargaro claimed 14th and Toprak Razgatlioglu 15th, while Augusto Fernandez was the last classified finisher in 16th. Joan Mir and Alex Rins collided on the opening lap and were joined by Enea Bastianini, Iker Lecuona, Cal Crutchlow, Ogura, and Francesco Bagnaia as non-finishers.
