Rally Chile 2026 has officially revealed its entry list, packed with fierce competition. A total of 56 crews will take part in this prestigious gravel event, with ten cars in the top Rally1 category. The presence of big names like Esapekka Lappi, who returns to drive the third Hyundai, is the main highlight.
Lappi will share the garage with Hyundai's full-season drivers, Adrien Fourmaux and Thierry Neuville. Meanwhile, Toyota remains consistent with its five cars at every round. The Toyota quintet of Elfyn Evans, Sami Pajari, Takamoto Katsuta, Oliver Solberg, and Sebastien Ogier currently occupies the top five positions in the WRC standings, a dominance worth watching.
M-Sport Ford is not to be left behind. Their familiar Irish pairing of Josh McErlean and Jon Armstrong is ready to spring a surprise in South America. The WRC2 category is also expected to be fiercely contested. Estonian star Robert Virves, who has dominated this season, will be tested by a host of tough rivals like Alejandro Cachon, Yohan Rossel, Nikolay Gryazin, and Gus Greensmith.

Local interest is also high. Brothers Alberto and Pedro Heller will look to shine in front of their home crowd, while Paraguayan prospects Fabrizio Zaldivar and Diego Dominguez are ready to cause an upset. Additionally, the Junior WRC title will be decided in Chile. Sweden's Calle Carlberg and Turkey's Ali Turkkan are the leading contenders, separated by just three points at the top of the JWRC standings.
Rally Chile is a crucial round before the WRC heads to Paraguay. After that, the world rally championship will take a brief pause before returning to Europe. Notably, last year Ogier won in Chile, and he will certainly want to repeat that success.
