Izan Guevara has been officially promoted to MotoGP with Pramac Yamaha for the 2027 season, replacing Jack Miller, who announced his departure earlier today. This completes the rider line-up for Yamaha's two premier-class squads.
The 22-year-old Spaniard, a product of Yamaha's BLU CRU development programme, will partner Toprak Razgatlioglu. Guevara arrives on the back of an impressive Moto2 campaign, currently second in the standings, 42.5 points behind leader Manu Gonzales.
"This is a dream come true for me," said Guevara. "Reaching MotoGP has always been my goal, and I know how difficult it is to arrive in the premier class. It has taken many years of hard work and sacrifices from a lot of people around me." He added that his immediate focus remains on fighting for the Moto2 title.

Guevara's world championship career has been a rollercoaster. After winning the Moto3 title in his second season with Aspar, he struggled in his first Moto2 year in 2023. But a switch to Pramac's Moto2 squad last season transformed his fortunes, yielding a first win at Valencia and a strong title bid this year with victories at Le Mans and podiums at Austin and the Sachsenring.
Yamaha boss Paolo Pavesio praised Guevara's maturity and growth. "We have known Izan's talent for many years," he said. "After two challenging seasons in Moto2, we made a mutual commitment to help him reach MotoGP. Throughout that journey, he has shown exactly what we hoped to see—work ethic, determination, consistency, and the ability to continuously improve."
The decision also aligns with MotoGP's new regulations set to arrive in 2027, which Pavesio believes offer an ideal opportunity for Guevara to adapt to the new machinery and prove the value of Yamaha's development pathway.
With this, Pramac Yamaha now boasts an intriguing duo: the proven Razgatlioglu and the hungry Guevara. Meanwhile, Miller's next move remains uncertain, but his experience and race craft will surely attract interest from other teams.
