Peugeot Announces Alex Quinn for Full-Time 2027 WEC Seat

French manufacturer Peugeot has officially confirmed a major lineup change ahead of the upcoming endurance racing season. Rising talent Alex Quinn is set to step up to a full-time race seat with Team Peugeot TotalEnergies starting from the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship season. This strategic move solidifies the driver's ongoing progression with the Peugeot 9X8 hypercar programme under a multi-year agreement.

The path to a full-time race seat for Alex Quinn follows a methodical progression within the squad. He originally joined Peugeot as a Test and Development Driver for the 2026 campaign after impressing team management with his standout performances across various endurance racing platforms. His meticulous work during testing sessions, paired with precise technical feedback and close collaboration with engineers, quickly cemented his value within the programme.

This promotion marks the latest milestone in a diverse career that has taken Alex Quinn from karting dominance through junior single-seaters and into the pinnacle of sportscar racing. A multiple karting champion, he claimed Rookie of the Year honors in both the British F4 Championship and the Formula Renault Cup before pivoting toward endurance competition, undertaking a dual campaign in IMSA and the European Le Mans Series in 2024.

That maiden full season in endurance racing yielded a runner-up finish in the ELMS LMP2 standings alongside a notable debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where he finished sixth in class. Those strong credentials caught the attention of Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, earning him a coveted call-up to the FIA WEC Rookie Test at Bahrain's Sakhir circuit to sample the Hypercar machinery.
