Milan Pawelec sealed the Moto2 European title in a dramatic round at Motorland Aragon, Spain, last weekend. The Polish rider bounced back from a crash in Race 1 to dominate Race 2 and clinch the championship before the season finale. Meanwhile, Carlos Cano and Fernando Bujosa split wins in the Moto3 Junior class, and Lorenzo Pritelli swept Moto4.
Moto3 Junior: Cano and Bujosa Share Wins
Carlos Cano started Race 1 from third on the grid but cleverly took the lead on lap four. From there, he had to withstand pressure from his rivals. The battle for the remaining two podium spots was fierce between Karpushin, Ramadhipa, and Pugliese. Eventually, Ramadhipa secured second, followed by Giulio Pugliese in third.
In Race 2, pole sitter Singhapong led the opening three laps before being overtaken by Cano. However, Bujosa, Ramadhipa, and David Gonzalez also fought for the lead. Fernando Bujosa seized an opportunity and took the lead two laps from the end. The Spanish rider crossed the line first, ahead of Pugliese and Karpushin.
Moto4: Pritelli Dominates at Motorland
Lorenzo Pritelli aimed for a perfect weekend at Motorland Aragon, and he achieved it. The Italian rider took pole yesterday and led most of today's race. Edoardo Savino and Mateo Marulanda tried to challenge him but couldn't. In the end, the Pasini Racing rider crossed the line first to claim 25 points. The two riders who tried to make life difficult for him joined him on the podium.
Moto2: Pawelec Rises, Morosi Wins Race 1
Moto2 points leader Milan Pawelec was fastest in qualifying and started from pole. However, misfortune struck in Race 1: he crashed on lap three. This opened the door for Alessandro Morosi and Unai Orradre to fight for victory. Morosi eventually won by just a tenth of a second over Harrison Voight, while Orradre had to settle for third.
For Race 2, Pawelec was determined not to repeat his mistake. He fought hard to lead, although Dennis Foggia took over on lap two. Orradre then led, but Pawelec hunted him down and won the race by nearly three seconds. This victory secured the Moto2 European title for him.
Stock: Jimenez Wins by a Whisker
In the Stock class, Yeray Ruiz started from pole. However, luck wasn't on his side; his performance dropped and he finished ninth. Up front, Jacobo Hinojosa, Lorenzo Pontillo (who later crashed), and Lorenzo Fellon battled. David Jimenez played it smart and took the win by a tiny margin of 13 milliseconds, almost a photo finish.
With this result, Milan Pawelec confirmed his status as Moto2 European Champion, while other young riders showcased their talent in the FIM MotoJunior. The Aragon round proved to be a stage for future motorsport stars.
