Paola Ramos capped off her debut full season in the women's world championship with a stunning double victory at the Jerez circuit in Spain. The Spanish rider showcased an elite champion mindset by overcoming a double long-lap penalty for a jump start to claim a remarkable win in the opening race of the weekend.
This dominant weekend in southern Spain solidified her status as one of the grid's brightest talents, echoing her strong performances from previous wildcard appearances. Throughout the 2026 campaign, Paola Ramos accumulated a total of four race wins, adding to her previous successes at Portimao and Balaton Park before finishing the year third overall in the standings.
Despite the overwhelming home support, the young Spaniard was quick to dismiss notions of a local geographic advantage, noting that her actual hometown is located many hours away from the facility. However, she emphasized that the unique layout of the Andalusian circuit suits her aggressive riding style and natural preferences exceptionally well.
Overcoming adversity on Saturday proved both her raw speed and race craft under intense pressure. Entering Sunday's finale, the tactical approach remained straightforward and unchanged as she aimed to pull away from the pack early and control the pace from the front without the hindrance of any early race penalties.
Securing championship bronze behind seasoned competitors like Maria Herrera and Beatriz Neila marks a highly successful rookie campaign. Looking ahead to future challenges, she acknowledged that continuous learning and maintaining overall consistency across every single round will be the absolute key to fighting for the ultimate world title.
