The Tissot Superpole session for the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship at Circuito de Jerez on Friday afternoon showcased absolute dominance from Spanish rider Paola Ramos. Competing on home soil, the Klint Racing Team standout secured the premier grid slot after clocking an unbeatable lap time around the Andalusian venue.
Right from the moment the qualifying session got underway, Paola Ramos immediately set a scorching pace. She wasted no time establishing herself at the top of the timesheets and continually improved her own benchmark across multiple flying laps. Her relentless consistency and precision through the technical corners resulted in an impressive 1'50.911 lap time, making her the only competitor able to dip beneath the 1-minute 51-second barrier during the entire session.
Spanish representation locked out the entire front row of the grid as her compatriots fought hard behind her. Maria Herrera, riding for Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR, had to settle for second position on the grid, finishing 0.613 seconds adrift of the pacesetter. Meanwhile, Beatriz Neila of Ampito Crescent Yamaha completed the all-Spanish front row with a deficit of 0.766 seconds.
Fierce battles unfolded further down the order as the remaining grid positions were decided. Natalia Rivera qualified in fourth place, closely followed by Italian rider Roberta Ponziani to round out the top five. Tayla Relph claimed sixth, ahead of Astrid Madrigal and Muklada Sarapuech, who all look poised to charge forward during Saturday's crucial encounter.
Securing her second WorldWCR pole position at Circuito de Jerez gives Paola Ramos a stellar launchpad for the opening race.
