Ivan Ortola secured victory in the 2026 Czech Moto2 Grand Prix after emerging on top of a tense duel with David Alonso at the end of a highly competitive race at Brno.
The QJMOTOR - Exocom - MSI rider completed the race in 35m53.143s, holding off Alonso by just 0.096s at the finish line. The battle for victory remained undecided until the final corners, with both riders displaying strong pace throughout the Grand Prix.
Home favorite Filip Salac delivered one of the standout performances of the weekend by claiming third place. The OnlyFans American Racing Team rider delighted the Czech crowd with a podium finish on home soil, ending the race 0.701s behind the winner.

The leading group remained tightly contested during the opening stages before the race gradually split into smaller battles. Senna Agius and Manuel Gonzalez completed the top five, while Izan Guevara, Daniel Holgado, Joe Roberts, Celestino Vietti and Jose Antonio Rueda rounded out the top ten.
Ortola and Alonso established themselves as the benchmark riders over race distance, consistently matching each other's pace as they pulled away from several of their closest challengers. Their fight ultimately produced one of the closest finishes of the Moto2 season.
It was also a productive weekend for Aspar, with Alonso finishing second and Daniel Holgado securing seventh place. The double points finish strengthened the team's overall performance at Brno.
One of the biggest setbacks of the race belonged to Aron Canet. The ELF Marc VDS Racing Team rider failed to finish and was classified as a retirement after completing only seven laps, a result that could have important implications in the Moto2 championship battle.
Ortola's victory capped an action-packed weekend at Brno and provides valuable momentum heading into the next round. With Alonso pushing him all the way to the finish and several championship contenders experiencing mixed fortunes, the fight for the 2026 Moto2 title remains wide open.
