Oliver Solberg delivered a stunning masterclass on the new Solorche test to claim victory on SS10 and catapult himself into the overall Rally Sardinia lead. The Toyota star set an untouchable pace through the tricky gravel, leaving the competition scrambling to respond.
That blistering run allowed Solberg to leapfrog Thierry Neuville at the top of the standings. He now holds a narrow 2.7-second advantage over the Hyundai charger as the battle for the world championship reaches a thrilling boiling point.
"I was a little cautious in some places because this was a difficult stage," Solberg reflected after putting himself squarely in the championship fight. With just a handful of points separating the top contenders, every split second on the Italian stages carries immense weight.

Further down the order, Sebastien Ogier holds third overall ahead of Adrien Fourmaux, who fought back following a morning puncture. Three more demanding stages on Saturday await the field before Sunday's final showdown.
