Oliver Solberg says he must take a close look at his own performance after another retirement brought a frustrating end to his Acropolis Rally Greece campaign.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing driver lost significant time with a puncture on Friday's opening gravel stage, forcing him to switch his focus from chasing the leaders to simply reaching the finish without further trouble.

"Today was definitely tougher than I expected. The puncture this morning was really unfortunate, and after that it was all about staying out of trouble and picking up whatever we could," said Solberg.

His rally ultimately ended on SS7 after sliding wide in a right-hand corner and becoming stranded on the roadside. While attempting to reverse, he damaged the gearbox, leaving retirement as the only option.
"It's especially frustrating because we were basically driving cautiously all day. I need to understand better why I make certain decisions in those situations. The foundations are good, but we need to change the small details if we're going to move forward again," he explained.
The latest setback extends a difficult 2026 campaign for Solberg. Although he was no longer fighting for the rally lead when the accident happened, the Swede admitted that such small mistakes continue to carry major consequences, making self-analysis essential before the next WRC rounds.
