The brutal gravel tracks of Sardinia delivered another masterclass in rallying drama as Oliver Solberg and co-driver Elliot Edmondson stormed to the overall lead of Rally Italia Sardegna following a tense morning loop. The standout youngster overturned the overnight deficit, pulling six seconds clear of his closest rivals with a blistering pace.
Dominating two of the morning's demanding special stages, Solberg showcased exceptional car control, particularly praising the rear stability through the tricky, narrow sections. While admitting he exercised caution in certain tricky parts to avoid unnecessary risks, the tactical approach paid off handsomely as his rhythm clicked perfectly in the second half of the loop.
Further down the order, the championship battle remains razor-thin as title contenders continue to trade blows. Adrien Fourmaux experienced a setback with an early puncture that dropped him down to fifth, though a spirited fightback quickly saw him reclaim fourth place from Sami Pajari in a thrilling midfield scrap.

With the competition exceptionally close at the summit—including pressure from seasoned ace Thierry Neuville—every tenth of a second counts on these punishing Italian stages. Tyre management and sheer nerve will dictate who ultimately triumphs in this high-stakes WRC encounter.
