Pato O'Ward clinched victory in the second IndyCar race at the Milwaukee Mile on Sunday, delivering a stellar performance on the historic oval track. Despite early setbacks, the Mexican driver managed to take the lead when it mattered most.

The 250-lap race started under unique circumstances as the first race was still paused under red flag conditions. Alex Palou led from the opening lap, but his tire management wasn't as sharp as his rivals.

O'Ward spent much of the first half in the midfield but made decisive moves forward. He also overcame a slow pit stop early on, where he nearly drove off without a right rear tire attached. Undeterred, he comfortably held the top spot as the laps wound down.

This victory is O'Ward's second of the season, keeping him firmly inside the top five in the standings. Scott McLaughlin finished second after leading 28 laps, while Christian Lundgaard completed the podium despite a bizarre pit stop issue caused by a stray wheel nut.

Behind them, David Malukas moved from 14th to fourth, and Kyle Kirkwood impressed by climbing from 24th to sixth, keeping his championship hopes alive. Palou settled for fifth, extending his points lead but unable to clinch the title just yet. Will Power dropped to 14th due to a pit lane speeding penalty.
