Two-wheel racing heritage came alive once again as Norton returned to the track for the prestigious Goodwood Revival 2026. The British manufacturer brought a slice of its golden history back to life in front of passionate motorsport fans.

Held from September 18 to 20, the event witnessed a historic 1953 Norton Manx 30M "Long Stroke" roaring down the tarmac. Partnering with classic racing specialists Works Racing, the iconic machine took part in the highly competitive Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy.

The grueling format featured two 25-minute races with two riders sharing the machine. Journalist Carl Stevens and seasoned classic racer Graham Higlett managed to steer the vintage motorcycle to a respectable 14th place finish amidst a high number of retirements.

Beyond the final standings, the true allure lay in the technical brilliance of the "Long Stroke" double overhead camshaft engine. The 1953 season marked the final year Norton utilized the 100 mm stroke configuration before switching to the "Short Stroke" evolution the following year.
