Nicolo Bulega delivered another dominant display at the 2026 WorldSBK Hungary round, securing a hat-trick at Balaton Park Circuit and extending his perfect season record at the top of the standings.
The Aruba.it Racing Ducati rider started from pole and immediately controlled Race 2 from the opening lap. On a technically demanding circuit, the Ducati package demonstrated strong aerodynamic balance and traction, allowing Bulega to build an early gap of 1.5 seconds.
Mid-race pressure came from teammate Iker Lecuona, who reduced the gap through consistent pace. However, superior tyre management and reduced rear tyre degradation enabled Bulega to respond in the closing stages, highlighting Ducati’s advantage in power delivery and corner-exit stability.

This result sees Bulega match the consecutive win record previously held by Alvaro Bautista, while also equalling the all-time podium streak achieved by Toprak Razgatlioglu and Colin Edwards, underlining his consistency at the start of the season.
“It’s been an amazing weekend. This track is usually very difficult for my riding style, so achieving a hat-trick here is very important for the championship,” said Bulega.
“I’m proud to do this with Ducati. Seeing the team so happy gives me extra motivation, but the season is long and we must stay focused race by race.”
The dominance reflects not only rider performance but also Ducati’s technical evolution, particularly in optimizing aero balance and power delivery across varying circuit characteristics. Leading the majority of laps this season emphasizes both strategic execution and technical superiority over rivals.
With four rounds, 12 wins, and a perfect pole record, the pressure now shifts to competitors to deliver a meaningful technical response. The next round at Most will present a different challenge, potentially testing the sustainability of Bulega’s current dominance.
