WorldSBK, Sportrik Media - Nicolo Bulega has insisted his Race 1 victory at the Australian WorldSBK round was “not easy,” despite leading from start to finish at Phillip Island.

The Aruba.it Racing Ducati rider dominated the weekend, topping every free practice session and securing pole position before making the holeshot and controlling every lap of Race 1.
“So, I’m happy and I want to continue like this,” Bulega said after the race.

Despite the commanding margin at the chequered flag, Bulega stressed that maintaining focus over the full race distance remained a demanding task.
“I had confidence, for sure, but to win a race is never easy,” he explained.
“You have to be focused for 45 minutes, so there are some things that, in a race, can happen.”
“So, you have to be always precise, always perfect, save the tyre, ride fast. There are a lot of things that you have to do at one time.”
The Race 1 triumph marked Bulega’s 21st career victory in World Superbike, drawing him level with two-time champion Max Biaggi on the all-time wins list and leaving him just one behind Marco Melandri.
Bulega’s performance at Phillip Island underlined his early-season momentum as the 2026 WorldSBK title fight begins to take shape.
