Nicolo Bulega reinforced his status as the ultimate favorite at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto by topping the second free practice session of the Pirelli Spanish Round, cementing Ducati's absolute dominance.
The Italian rider clocked a lap time of 1'38.309 during Friday afternoon's session, finishing 0.150 seconds ahead of Sam Lowes. Iker Lecuona followed closely in third position, rounding out a strong showing for the Borgo Panigale manufacturer.
The session experienced a temporary red flag stoppage following a crash by Jake Dixon at turn nine. Shortly after, Alvaro Bautista suffered a crash at the exact same corner. Fortunately, both riders emerged unhurt from their respective incidents.

Meanwhile, Dutch rider Twan Smits delivered an impressive performance aboard his Yamaha YZF-R1. Smits posted a lap time of 1'39.952, placing him 18th overall in the highly competitive field.
Remarkably, Smits stood out as the second-fastest Yamaha rider on track, trailing only Xavi Vierge. The young rider managed to finish ahead of established names including Andrea Locatelli, Remy Gardner, and Stefano Manzi.
