The MotoGP management remains firmly committed to staging the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix scheduled for the weekend of November 6 to 8. Despite lingering geopolitical tensions and an uncertain security climate across the Middle East, logistical preparations behind the scenes continue to move forward. Carlos Ezpeleta, sporting director of the championship, emphasized that the safety of everyone involved remains the absolute priority and alternative decisions could still be made on short notice if conditions warrant.
The Qatar round was originally slotted for April before being shifted to November due to regional developments, a rescheduling that subsequently forced the final two rounds in Portimao and Valencia to shift backward by a week. Although preparations at the Lusail International Circuit are currently tracking according to schedule, the overarching security landscape continues to demand constant vigilance from championship organizers and team bosses alike.

Speaking during the opening day of the Indonesian Grand Prix weekend, Carlos Ezpeleta made it clear that the series promoters are closely monitoring all developments on the ground on a daily basis.

We are obviously monitoring the situation very closely. For now we stick to the plan to travel to Qatar, but the safety and well-being of all staff, participants, and fans take absolute priority, Ezpeleta stated regarding the ongoing operational review.
The Spanish official added that the organization maintains several contingency plans in reserve, drawing parallels to last season when unforeseen weather emergencies forced rapid schedule overhauls and venue shifts at the eleventh hour, proving the championship's ability to adapt swiftly.

Reactions among the rider grid have varied, with Francesco Bagnaia acknowledging the distinct appeal of racing under floodlights in the desert while stressing that human safety must ultimately outweigh sporting priorities.
Qatar is a fantastic event, perhaps the most special race on the calendar due to night racing, but if the conditions are not right, it is wise to wait before making a final call, the Italian contender remarked.
Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo adopted a more nonchalant stance regarding the logistical chatter surrounding the overseas trip.
It does not occupy my mind. It is simply a race that was already on the calendar, and if Formula 1 goes there, we should go too, the Frenchman concluded.
