Martin Takes British GP Pole, Marquez Sixth

Jorge Martin once again showcased his prowess at Silverstone. The Aprilia rider snatched pole position for the British Grand Prix after a dramatic end to qualifying, while Marc Marquez had to settle for sixth.

Martin, the MotoGP championship leader, delivered a stunning lap of 1 minute 56.160 seconds. He edged out Raul Fernandez, who came agonizingly close to securing his first MotoGP pole. Fernandez, from Trackhouse, had to concede defeat by a mere 0.021 seconds.

Aprilia truly dominated the qualifying session. Four of its riders broke into the top five, with Ai Ogura from Trackhouse completing the front row in third. This bodes well for the Noale factory ahead of Sunday's race.

Meanwhile, reigning champion Marc Marquez struggled in Q2. He could only manage a 1 minute 56.527 seconds lap, 0.367 seconds adrift of Martin. This performance contrasts sharply with his earlier free practice pace.

Qualifying also turned into a nightmare for Francesco Bagnaia. The Ducati rider was eliminated in Q1 and will start from 16th place. This marks his worst qualifying of the season, a significant blow in the championship fight.
