The 2027 MotoGP rider line-up is beginning to take shape before the introduction of 850cc engines and Pirelli tyres. Based on the official announcements so far, eight seats have been filled across Ducati Lenovo Team, Aprilia Racing, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP.
Ducati Lenovo Team has retained Marc Marquez until at least 2028 and signed Pedro Acosta from KTM. The pairing combines a seven-time MotoGP world champion with one of the leading young riders on the grid.
Aprilia Racing will field championship leader Marco Bezzecchi alongside two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia. Meanwhile, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP has selected an entirely new pairing of Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura.

BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP has also replaced both riders by signing Joan Mir and rookie Dani Holgado. Mir brings world championship experience, while Holgado is the first rookie officially confirmed for the 2027 MotoGP grid.

The scale of the technical regulation change gives the 2027 rider market greater strategic importance. Teams are not selecting riders solely on current results, but also on development experience, knowledge of Pirelli tyres and the ability to adapt to 850cc machinery.
Four teams have completed their pairings, but most of the grid remains open. Announcements from Honda, KTM, VR46, Trackhouse, LCR and Pramac will determine how the balance between world champions, established riders and rookies develops before MotoGP enters its new era.
