MotoGP has officially announced the full 2027 pre-season test schedule, marking the beginning of a new era with 850cc engines. The Valencia test on December 1, 2026, will be a historic moment as riders first ride the new-generation bikes. After that, two main pre-season tests will take place before the season starts.
The schedule kicks off with the Shakedown Test at Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, on January 29-30. This session is reserved for factory test riders and rookies. A day later, all riders will participate in the Sepang Test on January 31 and February 1. This will be the first opportunity for all teams to compare their 850cc bikes on the same track.
After Sepang, the paddock moves to Buriram, Thailand, for the second official test on February 6-7. Buriram will host the season opener on March 5-7. Testing there is crucial for understanding tire behavior and bike setup in tropical heat.

The climax of pre-season is the Season Launch in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 21. The event will be held at Botafogo Beach, bringing MotoGP to one of the world's most iconic cities. This is the first time Brazil hosts the season launch, marking MotoGP's global expansion.
Meanwhile, the Moto2 and Moto3 classes have also confirmed their pre-season test schedules. All sessions will take place at Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, Spain. Moto2 will hold a private test on February 16-17, followed by the Moto3 official test on February 18-19, and the Moto2 official test on February 20-21.
With this busy schedule, teams and riders must quickly adapt to the new technical regulations. The 850cc bikes are expected to change race dynamics with more power and lighter weight. A solid pre-season preparation will be key to success in 2027.
