The MotoGP 2026 season faced unexpected calendar adjustments after a major military conflict erupted in the Middle East, forcing organizers to reschedule the originally planned spring round to November 2026 at the Losail Circuit near Doha.
Despite local optimism and plans to return to an early-season slot in 2027, the region remains classified as a high-risk zone, with multiple nations maintaining active travel warnings.
For the championship management, business must go on as long as legal frameworks permit. The paddock maintains a unified stance with zero talk of boycotts, should official green lights be granted by local authorities.

MotoGP manager Carlos Ezpeleta stated during the Indonesian GP, 'We are currently working, as planned, on the implementation of the Qatar GP, where the safety of all active participants, our crew, and the fans remains priority number one. Should there be a short-term change in the situation, we will react and create a safe plan with the teams and organizers, just as we did with the cancellation of the 2024 Valencia GP.'
Meanwhile, major corporate travel policies from manufacturers like Honda and Yamaha mean permanent staff will need careful coordination with their human resources departments regarding the upcoming trip to the desert venue.
