MotoGP 2026: 7 Different Winners, 2016 Record in Sight

Seven different riders have already won a MotoGP race in 2026, matching last season's total before the halfway point of the campaign. With only 12 rounds completed and 10 still to go, the record of nine different winners set back in 2016 is starting to look vulnerable.

The season began with Marco Bezzecchi dominating the opening three rounds for Aprilia Racing. The Italian's early form set the tone for a wildly unpredictable year. A historic moment came at Assen, where Ai Ogura claimed his maiden MotoGP win. Then at Silverstone, Raul Fernandez became the seventh different winner of the year, and in doing so, extended an incredible run of 12 different winners in the last 12 British Grands Prix.

Heading to Aragon, Martin holds a 31-point lead at the top of the championship, the largest margin any rider has enjoyed this season. But with riders like Pedro Acosta, Francesco Bagnaia, and Fermin Aldeguer still waiting in the wings, the list of potential winners is far from complete. If the trend continues, the 2016 record could fall after a decade.
