The Moto2 intermediate class drama at Motegi exploded after Manuel Gonzalez hit a costly technical glitch right before the start. The championship leader was forced to start from the pit lane, opening the door for Izan Guevara to secure maximum points.
The nightmare scenario unfolded when Gonzalez's Kalex suddenly died on the starting grid. Quick to capitalize on the chaos, Guevara seized control from the moment the lights went out, closely followed by Tony Arbolino who rocketed forward from fifth on the grid.
Throughout the 19-lap race under looming rain clouds, the battle at the front remained intense. Arbolino launched a daring overtaking maneuver for the lead with three laps to go, but was forced to settle for second place as the checkered flag waved.

This crucial victory brings Guevara within striking distance in the title race, trailing by just over ten points. Meanwhile, Arbolino's runner-up finish marks his emotional return to the rostrum for the first time since his podium appearance in Austin last year.
